TOMÁŠ KLVAŇA - New York University in Prague
Tomas Klvaňa was awarded a doctoral degree in Speech-Communication from the University of Minnesota in 1997; in 1992 he received an M. A. in journalism from Charles University. In 2003, Klvaňa was a Shorenstein Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government of Harvard University. He served as the Press Secretary and Policy Adviser for Vaclav Klaus, President of the Czech Republic, in early 2003. From 2001-03, Klvaňa was deputy editor-in-chief of Hospodářské noviny (a leading Czech daily for business, economy and politics), and from 2000-01 he was a senior international affairs commentator for the Czech daily newspaper Mladá fronta Dnes. From 1997-2000, Klvaňa was a visiting professor at the University of Southern Maine and taught courses on media and communications. He is a member of the Czech Euroatlantic Council, Harvard Club of Prague´s Board of Directors, participates regularly in international conferences on international relations and security policy, and is a frequent analyst for Czech media organizations. He is currently head of the Corporate and Regulatory Affairs of British American Tobacco in the Czech Republic.
