The NYU Study Abroad programs combine a world-renowned faculty, enthusiastic students, and a network of relationships that enable our students to take advantage of the best that each city has to offer. The program in Prague aims to expose students to the historical, political, social, and cultural heritage of the Czech Republic, to help students understand its role in a changing Europe, and to appreciate the complex economic and political issues influencing the relationship between Eastern and Western Europe. Content courses are taught in English at the NYU Center. Students are also required to take Czech, Russian, German or Polish language courses while pursuing a rich liberal arts curriculum. A new member of NATO and a candidate for the first wave of acceptance into the European Union, the Czech Republic is in a state of transition that is exciting to witness firsthand. Students from around the world are also drawn to this vibrant and beautiful city to experience its reemergence as one of the leading centers of culture and thought in Europe.
